Dear Students,

You are about to step into our Faculty and the Department of Industrial Design Engineering. As you know, faculties that train Industrial Design Engineers, both in Turkey and around the world, undertake the responsibility of providing the trained technical workforce needed by various manufacturing and production sectors and industrial organizations.

Industrial Design Engineering encompasses the design and production process of a new product that can be mass-produced, taking into account societal demand and market needs, and developing new ideas and concepts. For the country's economy to remain strong and resilient, new ideas and their implementation are necessary. One of the most important professions that will increase the number of innovative products in design activities and businesses in the country is Industrial Design Engineering.

To apply to this department, students must have a high school diploma and have obtained a sufficient score on the centrally administered university entrance exam. In our department, the 7+1 system is applied according to Article 74 of the Provisional Provisions of the Higher Education Law No. 2547, and our students undergo a workplace vocational training program in the 8th semester.

The 7+1 model is applied in our department. In other words, our students receive 7 semesters of education at the faculty and 1 semester in a workplace. Our students spend their 8th semester working entirely in businesses/factories, in real production environments, under the course "Vocational Training in the Workplace".

The curriculum, design studios, laboratory environments, and expert faculty members of the Engineering Departments are prepared to meet the criteria of MÜDEK (Engineering Education Programs Accreditation Board), the accreditation body in Turkey, and ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology).

Although Industrial Design Engineering is a relatively new field in our country, it is becoming one of the professions that is increasingly in demand in various sectors with the development of technology. Therefore, we believe that Industrial Design Engineers trained in Technology Faculties will meet the real needs of our country. Respectfully,
