Our Department Students Participated in The “Lives Shaped By Lathes“ Talk.

On Thursday, February 26, 2026, a conference titled "Lives Shaped by Lathes" was held in the Blue Hall of our Faculty, with the active participation of our students. The speakers were Yalçın Paslı, Corporate Customer Management Consultant at Tezmaksan, and Captain Pilot Mehmet Akif Güngören.

The program featured Yalçın Paslı and Captain Pilot Mehmet Akif Güngören as speakers. The program was moderated by Turan Akbulut, Biology teacher at Simav Science High School.

Yalçın Paslı, Customer Relations Coordinator at TEZMAKSAN, shared his experiences in the production technologies sector, offering insights into digital transformation in industry, a customer-centric approach, and the fundamental dynamics of sustainable success. He emphasized the importance of communication skills, teamwork, and continuous improvement, as well as technical knowledge.

Captain Pilot Mehmet Akif Güngören shared his aviation career journey and the critical processes encountered in flight operations with the students. Güngören stressed the vital importance of discipline, stress management, and sound decision-making mechanisms in the aviation sector, particularly highlighting the decisive role of communication systems in flight safety.

Pilot-tower communication, data transfer between in-flight systems, and real-time information sharing form the basis of safe flight operations. Strong and uninterrupted communication is a critical element in preventing potential risks and managing crises effectively. The interview, which attracted significant interest from our students, concluded in an interactive environment with a question-and-answer session.

The event demonstrated that professional success is shaped not only by technical knowledge but also by desire, vision, determination, and effective communication. It was stated that such events contributing to the career development of our students will continue in the future.

Our Vice Dean, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vedat Taşdemir, expressed his gratitude to Mr. Şeref Kazcıoğlu, and subsequently to Mr. Paslı and Mr. Güngören, for their contributions to the realization of the interview, and presented the participants with Certificates of Appreciation and a cosmetic box containing products from Simav.
